Operations are expected to start in 2027.
This initiative will allow Taihan VINA to increase its production capacity for EHV cables and improve its ability to serve not just the South East Asian market, but also international markets including Europe, the Americas and Oceania.
Once completed, Taihan VINA will be the sole manufacturer of 400kV-class EHV cables in Vietnam, said the company.

By GlobalDataThe groundbreaking event for the new plant took place at Taihan VINA’s existing facility, attended by government officials and industry leaders.
Taihan Cable VINA executive vice-president Joon-seok Kim said: “Over the past 20 years, Taihan VINA has served as a core production base driving Taihan’s overseas business growth, built upon accumulated manufacturing expertise and strong quality competitiveness.
“With the construction of this new plant, we will contribute to the advancement of Vietnam’s power grid while playing a leading role in the global energy infrastructure market.”
The decision to establish the plant aligns with Vietnam’s increasing electricity demands driven by rapid industrialisation, with projections indicating a 10–12% annual growth rate through 2030.
Founded in 2005, Taihan VINA is prominent in Vietnam’s cable manufacturing sector, offering a range of high, medium and low-voltage cables, along with overhead conductors.
Taihan Cable & Solution aims to develop Taihan VINA into an additional global production centre, complementing its Dangjin cable plant in Korea.
In August 2025, Taihan Cable & Solution secured a contract to deliver and install more than 100km of inter-array submarine cables for the Anma offshore wind power project in South Korea.
