Norway’s Government has set lofty targets for offshore wind, aiming to allocate areas for up to 30GW of production by 2040.
Researchers analysed data as far back as 1979 to identify ideal locations with consistent, strong wind power generation potential.
The two contracts involve engineering and installation of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables systems.
The 764km-long interconnector has connected electricity grids between the two countries for the first time.
The deal could fetch about $2bn, according to Bloomberg.
