Siemens Energy will manufacture the components for the projects at its sites in Germany.
The planned wind farm will generate up to 700MW, following approval with strict environmental safeguards.
The project will be carried out under an EPC contract with a JV of Equans Solar & Storage and Bouygues Construction Australia.
The electricity will come from Elena, an Americas-based battery storage facility operating with 3.5GWh of gross capacity and 3GW net.
The facility in Virginia will manufacture large power transformers, which are crucial for the country’s electric grid infrastructure.
Valued at $1.4bn (KZT675.4bn), the project includes a 600MWh BESS designed to enhance grid stability.
