Demand for electricity in India has returned to levels close to those before the country’s Covid-19 lockdowns. According to data released by POSOCO‘s National Load Despatch Centre, the average daily power demand stood at 3,595GWh after the lockdown was lifted on 1 June. During the lockdown period from 24 March to 31 May, demand averaged 3,037GWh.

Ørsted has concluded the sale of its Danish power distribution business Radius, residential customer business, and City Light business to SEAS-NVE. Nearly 750 staff  have moved to SEAS-NVE as part of the deal.

Nordex Group has deployed the first of 114 turbines for the Nysäter wind project in Sweden, after completion of the necessary infrastructure work. The company was awarded a contract for the turnkey construction of 104 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines and 10 N131/3900 turbines from RWE Renewables. This is currently the company’s largest project in Europe.

UK-based Ventient Energy has signed an agreement to acquire Portuguese wind farm operator Iberwind. The acquisition will add 31 wind farms, more than 320 wind turbines, 726MW of installed capacity to Ventient’s portfolio.
