Huaneng Power International has received approval for the construction of the proposed Huaneng Jinling combined cycle cogeneration project in Jinling, China.
The approval has been secured from state agency Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission for the CNY1.563bn ($240.79m) project in which Huaneng Power holds a 51% interest.

Huaneng Power International will fund about 25% of the project cost and the remaining expenditures will be funded through loans from PetroChina Kunlun Gas Utilization, Jiangsu Guoxin Asset Management Group and Nanjing Investment Company.
The project includes construction of two 200MW combined cycle gas turbine cogeneration units and related supporting facilities.
