UNITROL® EXCITATION SYSTEMS

UNITROL stands for high quality automatic voltage regulators and static excitation systems. With it we offer solutions for any type and size of power plant with high return on investment.

UNITROL® 6000

Latest generation of Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) and Static Excitation Systems (SES) based on AC 800PEC control platform for all kinds and sizes of synchronous generators and motors. Available in four basic types.

UNITROL 6800 / 6880 SES

UNITROL 6080 SES / AVR

UNITROL® 1000

AVR series for synchronous generators and motors with exciter machines. Microprocessor technology and IGBT output stage guarantee a wide application range.

Supply voltages: up to 300VDC or 250VAC (<400Hz)

MEGATROL COMBINED SOLUTION

MEGATROL is a smart and compact solution, combining UNITROL® 6000 Static Excitation System (SES) and MEGADRIVE-LCI Static Frequency Converter (SFC) in one container.

The use of ABB's powerful AC 800PEC controller for both systems results in fewer costs for spare parts and training of maintenance staff for the customer. This is an attractive solution for gas turbine, combined cycle and pumped storage power plants applications.

MEGATROL MEDIUM RANGE

The Megatrol medium range is typically used for gas turbines <200MW.

HYDTROL COMBINED SOLUTION

HYDTROL is an integrated solution for UNITROL® 6000 excitation system and HGC 6000 hydro governor control. Both systems are using the powerful AC 800PEC controller developed by ABB. The common control platform allows implementing seamless integration of both applications for hydro power plants solutions.

The modular governor control can meet any requirement for single or double channel systems for Francis, Kaplan and Pelton turbines as well as pumped storage applications.

SYNCHROTACT® SYNCHRONIZING EQUIPMENT

The SYNCHROTACT 5 products are used for automatic and manual synchronization of generators with power networks and for paralleling of synchronous lines. Available types:

• SYN 5100 simple Synchrocheck
• SYN 5200 Synchrocheck with advanced functionality
• SYN 5201 automatic single-channel synchronizing device with frequency and voltage matching
• SYN 5202 automatic dual-channel synchronizing device with Synchrocheck in series as second channel

SYNCHROTACT CSS (Compact Synchronizing System) is a standardized, completely wired and tested solution for synchronization of synchronous generators with a network. As the key components it uses the proven and reliable SYNCHROTACT 5 devices. SYNCHROTACT CSS can be used for fully automatic as well as independent manual synchronization and therefore ensures higher availability of the power plant.

SYNCHROTACT® MSP

SYNCHROTACT® MSP (Modular Synchronizing Panel) is a customized synchronizing system built on a modular base. It is used to synchronize generators and to parallel lines. SYNCHROTACT® MSP includes:
