North America power industry tenders in September 2019: The US leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, the US led the activity in September 2019 with 15 tenders and a share of 68.2%, down 1.8% over the previous month and down 86% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Canada with seven tenders and a share of 31.8%.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 109 tenders, followed by Canada with 36.

Thermal is top technology area for tenders in September 2019
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with six tenders and a 60% share, followed by wind with two tenders and a 20% share and solar with two tenders and a 20% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in September 2019, with eight tenders, followed by Electricity Procurement (6) and Generation Equipment (5).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 13 tenders and a 59.1% share
- Electricity Supply: five tenders and a 22.7% share
- Project Implementation: two tenders and a 9.1% share
