The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 157 contracts and a 76.6% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 32 contracts and a 15.6% share
  3. Supply & Erection: 13 contracts and a 6.3% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 0.5% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 0.5% share
  6. Electricity Supply: one contract and a 0.5% share.

France tops Europe solar power contracts activity

France was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology contracts recorded in Q1 2021 with 133 contracts and a 64.9% share, followed by Spain with 25 contracts and a 12.2% share and Portugal with six contracts and a 2.9% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France): 451.88MW from 69 contracts
  2. Gresham House, Mytilineos (Greece) and PPC Renewables (Greece): 200MW from one contract
  3. Instituto para la Diversificacion y el Ahorro de la Energia (Spain): 193.82MW capacity from four contracts.

The top winners of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Anesco (United Kingdom): 230MW from two contracts
  2. Metka EGN (United Kingdom): 228MW from two contracts
  3. Egnatia Group (Greece) and Voltalia (France): 200MW capacity from one contract.
