Additional information

Pivot Power has won planning permission to build a £25m grid-scale battery and rapid EV charging station in Norwich. The 50 MW battery is one of 45 planned to go live at sites at electricity sub stations across the UK under a £1.6bn programme. The site at Norwich is the third to receive planning permission following Southampton and Carlisle.

Pivot power developing a national network of Energy Superhubs. These combine grid-scale batteries with high volume power connections to create rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, powered by low carbon energy. Pivot have chosen sites that are close to National Grid substations, major road networks and nearby towns and cities. At each location Pivot plan to build a 50 MW battery connected to the high-voltage transmission network.
