Senvion has confirmed that it has concluded a contract to supply wind turbines and operate as the service provider for the 203MW Trianel Windpark Borkum II (TWB II) project in Germany.
The conditional contract was awarded by Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II in September last year. Having achieved contract completion, the offshore windpower project can now enter its next phase of development.

Senvion's chief executive officer (CEO) Jürgen Geissinger said: “We are very pleased with the completion of this contract and the confidence the Trianel project-consortium has shown in our turbines. We look forward to a successful partnership together.”
To be located 45km north of the island Borkum in the German North Sea, the TWBII windfarm will feature 32 units of Senvion 6.2M152 turbines with a power upgrade.
The turbines will be installed in a water depth between 25m to 35m.
Once completed, the windpower facility will be able to generate approximately 800 million kWh of electricity each year, meeting the electricity requirements of around 210,000 German households annually.

By GlobalDataTWB II's commercial director Klaus Horstick said: “A half year after contract signing, I am very pleased that we could successfully start the realisation phase together with Senvion.
“From spring 2018 onwards, the Trianel Windpark Borkum II will be installed in the North Sea and will expand the municipal offshore engagement.”
