Shuaiba North Cogeneration Power Plant is an 875.5MW dual-fuel fired power project. It is located in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in June 2010.

Description

The project is currently owned by Ministry of Electricity and Water with a stake of 100%.

It is a CCGT with Cogen power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Gas Oil.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in June 2010.

Contractors Involved

Fisia Italimpianti, GE Power, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Mitsubishi Power were selected to render EPC services for the dual-fuel fired power project.

The Dual-Fuel fired project have been supplied by GE Power and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions.

Mitsubishi Power supplied electric generator for the project.

GE Power supplied steam boiler for the project.
