Smart grid tenders in Q4 2021 saw 96 tenders announced, marking a rise of 8% over the last four-quarter average of 89, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 68 tenders and a 70.8% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 15 tenders and a 15.6% share
3. Project Implementation: seven tenders and a 7.3% share
4. Consulting & Similar Services: six tenders and a 6.3% share.

Asia-Pacific leads smart grid activity in Q4 2021

Comparing tenders activity in smart grid segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 31 tenders and a share of 32.3% during Q4 2021, followed by North America with 27 tenders and a 28.1% share and Europe with 21 tenders and a 21.9% share.

Solar is leading technology for smart grid tenders in Q4 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 11 tenders with an 84.6% share, followed by hydro with two tenders and a 15.4% share.
