NTE Energy is investing $2bn in the construction of three natural gas-fired combined cycle facilities in the US.
The 1,000MW Pickaway Energy Center being built in Ohio will see an investment of more than $900m.

The 500MW Reidsville Energy Center in North Carolina, and another 500MW facility Killingly Energy Center in Connecticut will each cost more than $500m.
Construction on the three facilities will begin between 2017 and 2018, with plans to fully commission between 2020 and 2021.
During construction, the three natural gas-fired plants are expected to create nearly 1,050 jobs.
When operational, each of the three facilities will employ approximately 25 full-time positions.

By GlobalDataElectricity generated at the Pickaway Energy Center will be enough to power nearly 800,000 homes.
The Killingly Energy Center and the Reidsville Energy Center will each be capable of powering approximately 450,000 homes.
NTE Energy CEO Seth Shortlidge said: "Following the commencement of construction on NTE’s Kings Mountain Energy Center and Middletown Energy Center, we are excited to announce the next three projects in our portfolio.
"We look forward to developing efficient power to fulfil the growing demand for clean, reliable generation."
NTE’s Kings Mountain Energy Center in North Carolina and Middletown Energy Center in Ohio are currently under construction, with expected commercial operation in 2018.
In March, the company closed financing for construction and operation of its Kings Mountain Energy Center, which is a 475MW natural gas-fired electric generating facility.
The company’s Pecan Creek Energy Center in West Texas is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2016.
