Voith will supply three 37MW vertical Francis turbines, generators automation systems and balance-of-plant equipment for the Rasuwaghadi plant.

Located in northern Nepal around 150km from Kathmandu, the Rasuwaghadi facility is being developed by the Rasuwaghadi Hydropower, a unit of the state-owned Nepal Electricity Authority.

Under the India contract, the company will provide service works for the installation of six new runners at the Salal hydroelectric plant on the river Chenab in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Originally installed between 1987 and 1995, the runners require an upgrade due to erosion damages caused by rivers flowing from the Himalayas.
