Chevron Energy Solutions has completed construction of the US Department of the Navy’s first landfill gas cogeneration plant in Albany in the state of Georgia.
The plant generates a capacity of 1.9MW of renewable electric power and steam by burning landfill gas collected from the Fleming / Gaissert Road landfill.

The project has been completed in collaboration with the Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB).
The facility contains a dual-fuel engine generator, a stack heat recovery steam generator and two dual-fuel boilers.
Chevron secured the financing for the project, which is being repaid through the MCLB’s avoided energy costs.
