Independent power producer Nexif Energy has awarded a consortium of Korean construction companies an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 110MW cogeneration project in Rayong Province, Thailand.

The consortium includes Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and SC Engineering.

The work includes the supply and erection of a General Electric 6FA gas turbine operating in combined-cycle with a Doosan DST-G20 steam turbine.

“The project will supply electricity to the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT).”

Under a 25-year power purchase agreement, the project will supply electricity to the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and industrial customers.

The project, which was acquired by Nexif in June last year, will be financed by a consortium of lenders led by Standard Chartered Bank.

Nexif Energy founder and co-CEO Matthew Bartley said: “The entry into this project and the achievement of the EPC signing is yet another indication of Nexif Energy’s continued momentum in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region since our formation in late 2015.
