Hylium Industries, a hydrogen technologies company based in the Republic of Korea, has entered a strategic assembly licence agreement with US-based Element 1 to bring advanced hydrogen generation and purification technologies to the Asian market.

The agreement grants Hylium intellectual property rights to assemble and commercialise hydrogen generation products using Element 1’s patented technologies within Korea and Asia.

Element 1 will provide Hylium with a comprehensive technology transfer, including documentation, hands-on training and operational support.

Hylium will begin by assembling S-Series methanol hydrogen generators using core components supplied by Element 1, with the possibility of extending the agreement to include L/M-Series for larger-scale applications.

Element 1 CEO Dave Edlund stated: “Our combined efforts will drive the commercialisation of hydrogen technologies, providing clean and efficient energy solutions for various applications including small-scale production of liquefied hydrogen for unmanned aircraft, hydrogen refuelling stations and micro-scale electricity grids.”

The partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen technologies in key Asian markets.

Hylium’s expertise in hydrogen liquefaction and storage, coupled with its market access in Korea and Asia, will complement Element 1’s hydrogen generation and purification technologies.

The collaboration is expected to lead to the development of efficient and sustainable hydrogen solutions that meet the growing demand in the region.
