Swiss technology company ABB has secured a contract from Poland’s national transmission system operator Polskie Sieci Elektronergetyczne (PSE).
Under the deal, ABB will deliver its Market Management System (MMS) software solution to strengthen the Polish power network and enable a reliable supply of electricity.
ABB’s MMS will provide a detailed modernised network model to support the safe, reliable operation of PSE’s national power network and its interface within the European energy market.
ABB’s power grids division business head Massimo Danieli said: “We are pleased to build on our longstanding partnership with PSE SA with our latest ABB Ability Market Manager software solution.
“We look forward to continuing supporting the digital transformation of Poland’s power network and bringing reliable power supply to millions, reinforcing our position as a partner of choice for enabling a stronger, smarter and greener grid.”
Poland’s power transmission network is currently interconnected with most of its European neighbours. By implementing ABB’s MMS solution, PSE intends to upgrade its systems and support the utility’s efforts to integrate with the European electricity network and better manage its domestic electricity market.
