According to figures for 2024, the annual electricity generation from Lestijärvi stands at more than 1.3 terawatt-hours, approximately 1.6% of Finland’s total electricity production.
The municipality hosting the wind farm expects to receive around €2.4m ($2.8m) each year in real estate tax revenue from the project.
Kymppivoima CEO Anders Renvall said: “The Lestijärvi wind farm provides its owners with a significant source of renewable energy for the next 35 years and supports the energy transition in Finland with its production.”
OX2 will continue to manage both the technical and financial aspects of the site following its completion.

By GlobalDataOX2 CEO Matthias Taft said: “The completion of Finland’s largest wind farm marks a milestone not only for OX2 but for the country’s energy transition.
“This €650m investment, owned by domestic stakeholders, strengthens Finland’s energy independence and creates long-term value for society. OX2 remains committed to ensuring strong operational performance.”
OX2 currently has five further wind power projects under construction within the country, representing a combined capacity of roughly 750MW.
OX2 works on projects involving onshore and offshore wind, solar power and energy storage, with an overall portfolio spanning approximately 33GW across development, construction, asset management and operations.
The company also pursues initiatives related to other renewable technologies such as hydrogen.
In August 2025, OX2 secured an asset management agreement with Renewable Power Capital covering four wind farms in Sweden.
The Knäsjöberget, Sörlidberget, Viberget and Storhöjden sites have a total capacity of 550MW. OX2 will oversee the technical, commercial and financial operations of these facilities.
