The installation will be carried out using DEME’s offshore transport and installation vessel the Norse Energi, a new addition to its fleet.

The Zeevonk offshore wind farm, which has a planned total installed capacity of around 1GW, is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners through its Energy Investment Fund I.

The project is intended to support the Netherlands’ energy transition targets by contributing new renewable energy capacity.

DEME’s appointment for turbine installation follows an earlier contract awarded to the company in July 2026 for the installation of the project’s foundations.

DEME WTG and O&M business unit director Martin Degen said: “Following the foundation installation award earlier this summer, this contract further expands DEME’s role in the delivery of the Zeevonk wind farm. It also demonstrates how our next-generation vessels support customers in delivering offshore wind projects safely and efficiently.

“More broadly, DEME’s versatile fleet and wide-ranging capabilities enable us to support multiple scopes across the offshore wind farm life cycle, from project development through installation and commissioning.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in delivering this landmark renewable energy project.”

Preparatory work for the installation is expected to begin in 2028, with offshore operations scheduled to follow. Completion of the project is anticipated in 2029.

According to DEME, this contract strengthens its presence in the European offshore wind sector and demonstrates its continued involvement in major renewable energy developments in the Netherlands.

The project is subject to a final investment decision.
