The Hai Long project is located approximately 45–70km off the coast of Changhua County in water depths of 35–55m.

It is being developed through a partnership comprising Northland Power, which holds a 30.6% stake; Mitsui, with a 40% interest; and Gentari International Renewables, with a 29.4% stake.

Northland Power said the project continues to advance as scheduled, with all construction activities progressing according to plan.

The company added that final permitting approvals are expected in the first half of 2027 (H1 2027), while overall construction costs remain within the original budget.

The wind farm consists of both the Hai Long No. 2 and Hai Long No. 3 sites.

Under a 30-year offtake agreement, the Hai Long project is expected to supply electricity to more than one million households in Taiwan, providing contracted revenues for Northland’s long-term financial flow.

Northland Power president and CEO Christine Healy said: “Installing all 73 turbines and generating power across the entire Hai Long project demonstrates Northland’s ability to safely execute complex, large-scale offshore wind projects.

“This milestone reflects the dedication, expertise and collaboration of our joint project teams, contractors, suppliers and partners, who have worked together to advance one of Asia’s largest offshore wind projects.

“Hai Long showcases our project execution capabilities and reinforces our ability to develop, construct and operate energy infrastructure globally.”

Northland Power owns an interest in 3.6GW of operating generating capacity worldwide, has 2.4GW under construction and maintains a development pipeline of approximately 8GW.

The company operates in offshore and onshore renewables, battery storage and natural gas-fired generation, with offices in seven countries.
