Atmos Renewables has finalised the purchase of a portfolio of projects in Australia from BayWa r.e., taking its combined operating and in-construction capacity beyond 2GW.
The deal encompasses two generating solar farms, the late-stage Bullawah Wind Farm development in New South Wales (NSW) and a suite of earlier-stage projects spread across the National Electricity Market.

Completion of the transaction lifts the Atmos asset count to 19 across wind, solar and battery energy storage, placing the company among Australia’s larger clean energy owner-operators.
Among the operational assets acquired is the 106MW-peak (MWp) Yatpool Solar Farm in north-west Victoria, which hosts roughly 350,000 panels and is contracted to Flow Power through an offtake agreement.
The facility lies 6km from the Karadoc Solar Farm, a neighbouring site that Atmos bought from BayWa r.e. in 2024, bringing both projects under a single ownership.
The portfolio also includes the Hughenden Solar Farm, a 20MWp facility comprising more than 60,000 panels that has been producing electricity in central Queensland since 2018.
Revenue from the plant is secured through a power purchase agreement with CS Energy.
Beyond the operating assets, the transaction strengthens Atmos’ development pipeline by adding the Bullawah Wind Farm, a proposed wind generation and battery storage scheme in the Riverina district, roughly 40km south-east of Hay.
At full buildout, the project would feature 141 turbines capable of generating approximately 800MW, alongside a 359MW battery system designed for two-hour duration.
Transmission access rights within the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) have been obtained for the 262MW stage two.
Bullawah is advancing through the concluding phases of the NSW planning process.
If the necessary consents and final investment decision are secured, construction of the Bullawah Wind Farm is expected to create approximately 380 local jobs.
The project would also provide community benefits such as funding for councils, First Nations programmes and local supply chain development.
Atmos CEO Nigel Baker said: “This acquisition strengthens our portfolio in two important ways.
“Yatpool and Hughenden add further diversity to our operating portfolio, while the 262MW Bullawah project positions the company to deliver its first New South Wales wind farm in the near term, given the advanced state of that project and the REZ access rights it holds.”
Earlier this month, Atmos, together with its parent company Igneo Infrastructure Partners, achieved financial close on two energy projects backed by the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme.
