Atmos Renewables, together with its parent company Igneo Infrastructure Partners, has achieved financial close on two energy projects backed by the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS).
The projects are the 470MW Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm in Western Australia (WA) and the 400MW/1.6GW-hour (GWh) Teebar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Queensland.

Following the earlier milestone in June 2025 for the 100MW/400MW-hour Merredin BESS, Atmos has now closed financing for a total of 970MW of capacity under the CIS.
The Teebar BESS project, located next to Powerlink’s Teebar Creek substation in Queensland’s Fraser Coast region, will offer four hours of energy storage.
The facility is expected to store power when electricity supply exceeds demand and release it when required, aiming to support grid reliability and the integration of renewables.
Parron Maam Marang farm is situated in WA’s Wheatbelt region. This wind facility has secured a long-term power purchase agreement with Synergy, the state’s major electricity retailer.
Atmos CEO Nigel Baker said: “The CIS provides important long-term revenue support, but an award is only one step. Projects still need to secure financing, grid access, wider commercial arrangements and a credible delivery pathway.
“Teebar BESS and Parron Maam Marang Farm meet market needs for the firming and generation capacity required in Australia as electricity demand grows and ageing generation retires. Reaching this point has required sustained collaboration across state and federal governments, lenders, network businesses, commercial partners and delivery partners.”
Igneo Australia and New Zealand partner and head Danny Latham said the financial close of almost 1GW of CIS-backed projects demonstrates the strength of the Atmos platform.
Latham said: “These major milestones demonstrate Atmos’ ability to develop, finance and deliver large-scale renewable energy infrastructure that supports Australia’s energy transition while generating long-term value for our investors.”
Atmos will maintain ownership of the Teebar BESS and Parron Maam Marang throughout construction and subsequent operations.
These projects form part of a broader national portfolio, which currently includes more than 1.5GW of wind, solar and storage in operation or under construction.
