Inox Solar Americas has confirmed that its planned photovoltaic (PV) cell manufacturing facility in Greenville, North Carolina, is on track to begin production in the second quarter (Q2) of 2027.
The US-based company states that the new plant will have an annual capacity of 3GW and occupy 515,460ft².

The facility forms a core element of Inox Solar Americas’ efforts to develop a vertically integrated domestic solar manufacturing platform within the US.
According to the company, producing PV cells domestically will complement its current US-based PV module output, increasing access for customers to solar technology made in the country and expanding the transparency and resilience of the domestic supply chain.
Inox Solar Americas’ manufacturing strategy emphasises domestic content across its products. The company says this will help customers address shifting requirements related to domestic content, “Foreign Entity of Concern” and “Prohibited Foreign Entity” considerations, relevant trade regulations, and provisions stemming from federal energy policy.
The company is focused on documented manufacturing procedures, qualified sourcing, and compliance readiness intended to assist customers managing complex procurement and project planning.
Integrating PV cell and PV module production in the US is also expected to help improve visibility and control throughout the solar supply chain.
The company indicates it is strengthening processes for supplier qualification, sourcing documentation, traceability of materials, and due diligence, to offer customers clearer insight into the origins and manufacturing details of their products.
Increasing domestic production is also intended to reduce reliance on imported PV cells and limit exposure to global supply disruptions or trade-related risks.
The Greenville facility will feature the company’s Galaxion monocrystalline PV cell technology, alongside its Gamma Series monofacial and Vega Series bifacial PV modules.
Inox Solar Americas reports that the plant will use automated manufacturing systems and process controls to maintain consistent quality and production traceability from PV cell fabrication through to finished modules.
Inox Solar Americas president and CEO Ashok Nair said: “By bringing advanced cell technology, high-performance module manufacturing, and rigorous quality control together within our US manufacturing platform, we are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable supply and the bankability required for their project pipelines.”
In September 2026, Inox Solar Americas secured a deal to supply 767MW of PV modules to a US-based renewable energy developer and independent power producer (IPP).
