Scheduled to commence operations from September 2020, the plant will have the capacity to generate 540MW of power.

“The order was placed by Nakoso IGCC Power to support the revitalisation of Fukushima.”

The coal gasification furnace for Nakoso IGCC Power was built at MHPS’s dedicated plant in Nagasaki, and the shipments will begin in June.

The power is generated in an IGCC system using a high-efficiency combined-cycle format integrating gas and steam turbines.

It is said that the power generation capacity is significantly higher through IGCC system and has lower carbon emission levels in comparison to traditional coal-fired plants.
