UK-based energy company Thrive Renewables has agreed to supply wind power to Bristol Energy for a period of 12 months beginning in September this year.
Under the deal, Bristol Energy will receive renewable electricity produced by Thrive’s Clayfords wind farm, which is located near Strichen in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Thrive’s Clayfords wind farm is a single-turbine 0.8MW site and will deliver approximately 2.26GWh of clean energy to nearly 564 homes over the course of the contract.
The new deal builds upon a similar agreement signed by the two Bristol-based companies for hydro-electricity last year.
Clayfords wind farm was built in 2015 and qualifies for the government’s renewable energy feed-in-tariff (FiT) subsidy.
Thrive Renewables managing director Matthew Clayton said: “Thrive exists to offer individuals a rewarding connection with sustainable energy, so having the opportunity to provide our renewable power to a company like Bristol Energy, with similar values to us is extremely rewarding.”

By GlobalDataFounded by Bristol City Council in 2015, Bristol Energy supplies electricity to more than 76,000 homes across the UK.
Bristol Energy origination manager Simon Proctor said: “Deals like this help us to offer even more green energy to our customers at a competitive price – making renewable energy more accessible for everyone.
