Nalco provides innovative, eco-friendly services for water treatment and emission reductions in the power industry. The company has a worldwide client base, providing cost-effective solutions that are safe, reliable and help bring measurable returns on investments.
Our solutions ensure that reliability is enhanced through the maximising of plant availability, preventing unscheduled downtime, reducing maintenance and increasing the lifespan of equipment.
Profitability is increased through the optimisation of heat rate and a reduction in water requirements and necessary manpower.
Operations efficiency is improved through increasing the effectiveness of condensers and cooling towers. Corrosion, scaling and fouling are prevented. There is also the optimisation of turbines and fuel use.
In addition, our services ensure the meeting of stringent standards for health and safety, as well as the environment. Control of dust and ash handling are improved, reliability and safety goals are achieved. In addition to reductions in water use, output of wastewater and greenhouse gas emissions.
The Nalco Air Protection Technologies (APT) group offers a complete range of solutions for control of mercury emissions at coal-fired power generation facilities.
Nalco APT optimises the air quality control devices (ACQDs) that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with only minimal modification of existing equipment required by Nalco mercury solutions for their integration.
A mercury reduction of more than 95% is provided by Nalco’s Nalco APT MerControl®, which ensures that mercury emission requirements are met. In addition, stringent emission regulations are satisfied such as the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS / Utility MACT).
Nalco’s mercury control solutions are easily integrated with existing air quality control devices (ACQDs), saving significant costs on buying new equipment, installation, and annual operations and maintenance. This simple integration with existing devices ensures that any impact on plant operations is minimal.
No harmful impacts on the resale value of by-products from coal combustion occur from using Nalco mercury control technologies.
