As a result of an alliance between the Gas Turbine Services division (“GTS”) of international energy services company, John Wood Group (“Wood Group”) and Malaysia’s Serba Dinamik Sdn (“Serba”), a short term maintenance agreement has been entered into with Petronas Gas Berhad (“PGB”). Under this agreement, Wood Group and Serba in alliance will provide all parts, repairs, and field services to nine General Electric Frame 6B gas turbine generators located at PGB’s Kerteh and Gebeng Centralised Utility Facilities (CUF) in Malaysia.

The Wood Group and Serba Alliance have been performing transactional maintenance activities at the Kerteh and Gebeng facilities for several years. This agreement represents the largest bundled major maintenance contract awarded to the Wood Group Serba Alliance since commercial operation of the CUF units. The agreement will cover the upcoming 2008 and 2009 maintenance outages on these nine General Electric gas turbine generators and will provide PGB with a single source for all of their maintenance needs.

PGB has been a Wood Group customer for several years, and throughout this relationship, the two companies have built a foundation upon which this new agreement resides. This agreement further demonstrates Wood Group’s ability to provide exceptional customer solutions for gas turbine maintenance services in the Asia Pacific region.

“Serba Dinamik’s alliance with Wood Group has established a qualified service provider in Southeast Asia with technical experience to rival that of the OEM,” states Ir Abdul Karim, group MD of Serba Dinamik.

Larry DePompei, vice-president of sales for Wood Group Contractual Solutions, stated: “This agreement exemplifies the growing relationship among PGB, Wood Group and Serba while continuing to display Wood Group’s commitment to the Malaysian and Southeast Asian market.”
