August 2021 has seen an increase of 9.28% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 19.47% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.79% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 67.51% in August 2021, an 11.21% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 12.9% in August 2021, marking a 51.35% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 8.53% in August 2021, an 11.9% drop from July 2021.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 5.23% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during August 2021 over previous month.

Siemens posted 201 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 21.48% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 59 jobs and a 40.48% growth. Senvion with 18 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 18 jobs, recorded a 260% rise and a 63.64% rise, respectively, while CLP Holdings recorded a 9.09% increase with 12 job postings during August 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 63.59% share in August 2021, a 17.95% increase over July 2021. Australia featured next with an 11.06% share, flat growth over the previous month. China recorded a 10.83% share, a drop of 48.35% compared with July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.36%, down by 3.17% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 29.03% share, registered a growth of 5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.6% share, down 21.43% over July 2021.
