July 2021 has seen an increase of 9.52% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 18.4% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 1.09% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 72.46% in July 2021, a 17.15% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.93% in July 2021, marking a 37.5% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.58% in July 2021, a 7.32% drop from June 2021.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 47.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during July 2021 over previous month.

Siemens posted 249 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 69.39% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 36 jobs and a 25% drop. Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista with 19 IT jobs and Clearway Energy with 11 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Vestas Wind Systems recorded a 28.57% decline with 10 job postings during July 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 50.79% share in July 2021, a 20.32% rise over June 2021. China featured next with a 19.64% share, up 155.88% over the previous month. Australia recorded an 11.29% share, a flat growth compared with June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.43%, up by 10.63% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.41% share, a growth of 15.84% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.48% share, up 82.61% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.68%, recording a month-on-month growth of 50%.
