June 2021 has seen an increase of 4.81% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 16.4% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.67% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 66.67% in June 2021, a 6.92% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 9.35% in June 2021, marking a 2.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 9.11% in June 2021, a 49.33% drop from May 2021.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during June 2021 over previous month.

Siemens posted 117 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a decline of 15.22% over the previous month, followed by Luz Del Sur SAA with 78 jobs and a 160% growth. Schneider Electric with 47 IT jobs and SunPower with 23 jobs, recorded a 9.62% decline and a 54% drop, respectively, while Vestas Wind Systems recorded a 50% an increase with 15 job postings during June 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 40.53% share in June 2021, a 23.18% decline over May 2021. Philippines featured next with a 19.42% share, flat growth over the previous month. Australia recorded a 17.99% share, a growth of 74.42% compared with May 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.3%, down by 5.86% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.5% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.71% share, up 12% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.48%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
