China’s power industry IT recruitment activity rises 7.5% in August 2021

China’s power industry registered a 7.5% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.53% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.13% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 1.87% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s power industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.09% in August 2021, registering a 56.16% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 17.02% share, a decrease of 20% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 8.51%, registering a 33.33% rise from July 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 4.26%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 45.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s power industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

Siemens posted 28 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 65% over the previous month, followed by Ming Yang Smart Energy Group with 8 jobs and a 100% growth. Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology with 5 IT jobs and ORTEC with 3 jobs, recorded a 400% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while GE Lighting recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.98%, down by 53.01% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.77% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.26% share, flat growth over July 2021.
