Europe witnessed a 3.9% rise in IT hiring activity in the power industry in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
July 2021 has seen an increase of 5.35% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.11% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 55.65% in July 2021, a 38.72% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 12.42% in July 2021, marking a 7.23% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.13% in July 2021, a 25% drop from June 2021.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 8.55% in July 2021, a 15.22% rise over the previous month.
Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 50.32% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Siemens posted 140 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Umicore with 55 jobs and a 25% growth. Vestas Wind Systems with 46 IT jobs and Luz Del Sur SAA with 41 jobs, recorded a 17.86% decline and an 87.69% drop, respectively, while Nordex recorded a 3.7% decline with 26 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 19.52% share in July 2021, a 15.24% rise over June 2021. the UK featured next with a 13.23% share, down 9.89% over the previous month. Italy recorded an 11.13% share, a drop of 69.2% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.29%, down by 36.59% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.81% share, a decline of 6.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.61% share, down 22.58% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.29%, recording a month-on-month growth of 700%.
