India’s power industry registered a 14.6% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 31.09% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 34.13% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 5.46% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 71.38% in August 2021, registering a 3.14% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.41% share, an increase of 117.65% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.52%, registering a flat growth from July 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.07%, up 600% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 21.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

Siemens posted 144 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 2.04% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 51 jobs and an 88.89% growth. Senvion with 14 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 9 jobs, recorded a 1300% flat growth and a 28.57% flat growth, respectively, while Clearway Energy recorded an increase of 100% with 8 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.26%, up by 31.25% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 38.77% share, registered a decline of 0.93% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.97% share, up 57.14% over July 2021.
