August 2021 has seen a decrease of 10.09% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for an 11.85% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.82% over the last three-month average share.
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Computer and Information Analysts Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 40% in August 2021, a flat growth over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 30% in August 2021, marking an 87.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 10% in August 2021, a 50% drop from July 2021.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 10% in August 2021, a 75% decline over the previous month.
Top five power companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 50% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s power industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista posted 4 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 2 jobs and a flat growth. Siemens with 2 IT jobs and The ERM Group with 1 jobs, recorded an 83.33% drop and a 66.67% drop, respectively, while Woolpert recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s power industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 60% share in August 2021, a 33.33% decrease over July 2021. Egypt featured next with a 30% share, down 50% over the previous month. Sudan recorded a 10% share, a flat growth compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, down by 66.67% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 10% share, registered a decline of 75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with a 10% share, down 66.67% over July 2021.
