July 2021 has seen an increase of 24.38% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for an 11.29% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.91% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 67.57% in July 2021, a 177.78% growth over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 10.81% in July 2021, marking a 300% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.81% in July 2021, a 33.33% growth from June 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 244.44% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s power industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Siemens posted 12 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Enel with 5 IT jobs and Schneider Electric with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 25% increase, respectively, while The ERM Group recorded a 200% increase with 3 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s power industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 27.03% share in July 2021, a 150% rise over June 2021. Cape Verde featured next with a 16.22% share, flat growth over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 16.22% share, a growth of 500% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.97%, up by 200% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 13.51% share, a growth of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with 8.11% share, up 200% over June 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 5.41%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
