June 2021 has seen an decrease of 0.63% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.26% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.36% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 44.52% in June 2021, a 12.86% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.78% in June 2021, marking a 22.02% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.47% in June 2021, a 15.24% growth from May 2021.

Top five power companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 42.76% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s power industry during June 2021 over previous month.
PG&E posted 134 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 185.11% over the previous month, followed by NextEra Energy with 127 jobs and a 13.39% growth. Siemens with 72 IT jobs and Schneider Electric with 49 jobs, recorded a 30.91% growth and a 3.92% drop, respectively, while CMS Energy recorded a 31.25% an increase with 42 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s power industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 92.72% share in June 2021, a 13.76% rise over May 2021. Canada featured next with a 5.07% share, down 6.06% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.21% share, a growth of 125% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.44%, down by 4.11% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.42% share, a growth of 69.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.99% share, up 8.23% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.15%, recording a month-on-month growth of 55.56%.
