June 2021 has seen an increase of 31.6% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for an 8.86% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 2.25% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 46.85% in June 2021, a 27.6% growth over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 21.99% in June 2021, marking a 33.72% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 14.34% in June 2021, a 17.19% growth from May 2021.

Top five power companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 19.95% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista posted 329 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 4.44% over the previous month, followed by Luz Del Sur SAA with 149 jobs and an 86.25% growth. Iberdrola with 14 IT jobs and Energisa with 11 jobs, recorded a 250% growth and a 37.5% increase, respectively, while Enel recorded a 57.89% decline with 8 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 69.22% share in June 2021, a 5.85% rise over May 2021. Peru featured next with a 21.8% share, up 93.22% over the previous month. Dominican Republic recorded a 2.68% share, a growth of 75% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.73%, up by 21.93% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with a 14.15% share, a growth of 8.82% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 6.12% share, down 3.03% over May 2021.
