The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 3.95% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.65% share in July 2021, recording decrease of 0.23% over the last three-month average share.

Top five power companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.66% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK power industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
SSE posted 16 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 20% over the previous month, followed by National Grid with 13 jobs and an 8.33% growth. Siemens with 8 IT jobs and Schneider Electric with 7 jobs, recorded a 38.46% drop and a 75% increase, respectively, while YTL Power International recorded a 50% increase with 6 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.07%, down by 19.12% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.85% share, a decline of 7.14% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.63% share, up 50% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.44%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
