Description

The project is being developed by Acciona Energia, GE Renewable Energy and SSE Renewables (Ireland). GE Renewable Energy and SSE Renewables (Ireland) are currently owning the project. The turbines will be mounted on fixed monopile foundations.

Arklow Bank (Arklow Bank Phase II) consists of 56 turbines.

The Tubular Steel structure to be installed at the Arklow Bank (Arklow Bank Phase I), site are expected to be 70.5m high.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2003. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2004.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Arklow Bank (Arklow Bank Phase I) will be sold to Airtricity Energy Supply under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Arklow Bank (Arklow Bank Phase I) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy 3.6s turbines. The phase consists of 7 turbines with 3.6MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the Arklow Bank (Arklow Bank Phase I).
