Description
The project was developed by Hirono IGCC Power GK. Mitsubishi Corp Energy Solutions, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric and Tokyo Electric Power Co Holdings are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 40%, 10% and 10% respectively.
It is a Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power plant. The fuel is procured from Spring Creek Mine.

The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2021.

Mitsubishi Power was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the coal fired power project.
Mitsubishi Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project. The company supplied M701F4 - 50Hz model gas turbines for the project.
