Description

The project is being developed by EDF EN Maroc, Mitsui, Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy and Parc Eolien Taza. EDF EN Maroc and Mitsui are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.

The project is expected to generate 300,000MWh electricity to offset 430,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The Taza Wind Farm (Taza Wind Farm - I), will have 85m high towers.

The Taza Wind Farm (Taza Wind Farm - II), will have 85m high towers.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2020. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Office National de l'Electricite et de l'Eau Potable under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.068kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 150MW.

Contractors involved

EDF EN Maroc and Mitsui are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Taza Wind Farm (Taza Wind Farm - I) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy 130-3.2 MW turbines. The phase consists of 27 turbines with 3.2MW nameplate capacity.

Taza Wind Farm (Taza Wind Farm - II) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy turbines. The phase consists 23 turbines.

EDF EN Maroc and Mitsui are expected to be contracted for rendering of operations & maintenance services for the project.
