The value marked a decrease of 49.2% over the previous month of $26.99bn and a drop of 18.8% when compared with the last 12-month average of $16.89bn.
In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a drop of 11.43% with 155 deals in April 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 175 deals.
In value terms, North America led the activity with deals worth $6.18bn in April 2021.
