Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 75.15% in March 2022, a 0.82% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.57% in March 2022, marking a 42.42% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 7.13% in March 2022, a 35.19% drop from February 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 17.34% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during March 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 169 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a decline of 19.14% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 81 jobs and a 10.99% drop. Vestas Wind Systems with 28 jobs, recorded a 7.69% rise, while Snowy Hydro recorded a 50% decline with 23 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 60.9% share in March 2022, a 5.68% decrease over February 2022. Australia featured next with an 11.61% share, down 40.63% over the previous month. China recorded a 7.54% share, a growth of 23.33% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.17%, down by 2.14% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.85% share, registered a decline of 4.69% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.57% share, up 20.51% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.41%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
