February 2022 has seen an increase of 0.92% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 20.63% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.56% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 73.31% in February 2022, a 32.1% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 10.96% in February 2022, marking a 12.24% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 6.37% in February 2022, a 28% rise from January 2022.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 26.35% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during February 2022 over previous month.

Siemens posted 201 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a decline of 49.5% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 93 jobs and a 72.22% growth. Snowy Hydro with 46 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 26 jobs, recorded a 6.12% drop and a 44.44% rise, respectively, while Itron recorded a 1600% increase with 17 job postings during February 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 64.54% share in February 2022, a 28.79% decrease over January 2022. Australia featured next with an 18.53% share, up 24% over the previous month. China recorded a 5.78% share, a drop of 43.14% compared with January 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.53%, down by 9.24% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.9% share, registered a decline of 42.13% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.77% share, down 55.68% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.8%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
