September 2022 has seen an increase of 9.77% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 14.4% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 1.23% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 53.68% in September 2022, a 0.88% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.8% in September 2022, marking a 28% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 9.03% in September 2022, a 65.22% rise from August 2022.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 0.77% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Siemens posted 154 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 13.24% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 41 jobs and a 38.81% drop. Kehua Data with 33 IT jobs and Siemens Energy with 18 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 67.27% drop, respectively, while SolarEdge Technologies recorded a 466.67% increase with 17 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 63.42% share in September 2022, a 6.97% decrease over August 2022. China featured next with a 14.96% share, up 133.33% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 7.84% share, a growth of 10% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.66%, up by 8.06% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.84% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.55% share, down 12.2% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.95%, recording a month-on-month growth of 33.33%.
