October 2021 has seen an increase of 3.81% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 20.47% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.58% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 71.39% in October 2021, a 3.55% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.76% in October 2021, marking a 7.89% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.19% in October 2021, a 23.91% drop from September 2021.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 0.81% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Siemens posted 116 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 27.04% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 65 jobs and a 27.45% growth. Snowy Hydro with 32 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 20 jobs, recorded a 146.15% rise and a 13.04% drop, respectively, while ORTEC recorded an 1100% increase with 12 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 62.99% share in October 2021, a 9.09% decrease over September 2021. Australia featured next with a 19.42% share, up 68.18% over the previous month. China recorded a 4.2% share, a drop of 56.76% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.38%, down by 18.53% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 35.7% share, registered a growth of 24.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.14% share, down 8.82% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.79%, recording a month-on-month growth of 200%.
