September 2021 has seen an increase of 9.31% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 19.32% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 72.07% in September 2021, a 0.34% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.22% in September 2021, marking a 16.67% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 8.73% in September 2021, a 16.67% rise from August 2021.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 9.12% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Siemens posted 121 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 40.98% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 53 jobs and a 3.92% growth. Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista with 47 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 21 jobs, recorded an 840% rise and a 23.53% rise, respectively, while Vector recorded a 142.86% increase with 17 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 70.82% share in September 2021, a 10.94% increase over August 2021. Australia featured next with a 9.73% share, down 9.3% over the previous month. China recorded a 6.98% share, a drop of 44% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.33%, up by 0.76% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.69% share, registered a decline of 16.81% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.98% share, up 12.5% over August 2021.
