Belgium’s power industry IT recruitment activity drops 3.1% in August 2022

Belgium’s power industry registered a 3.1% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.23% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.5% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 1.85% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Belgium’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Belgium’s power industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34.38% in August 2022, registering a 10% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 31.25% share, a decrease of 25.93% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 21.88%, registering a 39.13% decline from July 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.94%, down 30% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Belgium’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 12.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Belgium’s power industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Umicore posted 56 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 15.15% over the previous month, followed by John Cockerill Group with 3 jobs and a flat growth. Element Labs with 2 IT jobs and Electricite de France with 1 jobs, recorded a 60% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Schneider Electric recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.44%, down by 16.07% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 26.56% share, registered a decline of 22.73% compared with the previous month.
