Belgium’s power industry registered a 9.2% rise in IT hiring activity in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.38% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.11% share in January 2022, recording an increase of 1.28% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.16% in January 2022, registering an 8.89% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 24.82% share, an increase of 66.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 8.51%, registering a 50% rise from December 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 7.8%, down 31.25% over the previous month.

 

Top five power companies in Belgium’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Belgium’s power industry during January 2022 over December 2022.

Umicore posted 115 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a drop of 4.96% over the previous month, followed by Element Labs with 17 jobs and an 88.89% growth. Siemens with 8 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 1 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a flat growth.

Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.21%, down by 9.17% from December 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.31% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 13.48% share, up 375% over December 2022.
